Youth First Named Charity of the Year Tour’s “Charity of the Year” is Youth First of Evansville.  The announcement was made at a recent PGA Tour’s Tournament meeting; but today, the non-profit was awarded again.

In addition to the recognition for their work with the United Leasing & Financing Championship held at Victoria National Golf Club, Youth First Director Parri Black was presented a check for $30,000 to help with the organizations mission.

Youth First provides social and emotional support to families in the Southern Indiana community in various ways, including offering their services to 56 area schools.  Black says this award will help them continue their vision.  “This kind of gift will help us advance our mission through the work that we do; and, I think it’s very significant because it really represents a half year of work in a school.  So, it makes a difference; big time!”

This is only the second time the Tour’s given out a Charity of the Year award, but Tour President Bill Calfee says there’s no bigger honor than this as their event focuses on charity.

The 2017 United Leasing & Financing Championship will take place April 17-23 with 156 players competing for $600,000.  More information about the tournament can be found here.

Youth First says they’re always grateful for community support and thanks the area for helping them win this award.  They have many volunteer opportunities available and welcome those interested to visit their website.
